Privacy Policy
Website Analytics
pync.app uses Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Vercel Analytics is designed to be privacy-friendly by default:
- No cookies are set — ever.
- No persistent identifiers or fingerprinting across sessions.
- Data collected is aggregated and anonymized: page views, referring URL, device category, browser family, and country (derived from IP; the IP address itself is never stored).
- No cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles.
Analytics data is processed by Vercel Inc. (San Francisco, CA, USA) under their Privacy Policy. Because no personal data is collected, no consent banner is required under GDPR for this use.
The Pync Android App
The app is built on a no-account, no-server model:
- No registration required. Pync does not ask for your name, email address, or any account credentials.
- Your files never touch our servers. Photos and videos are uploaded directly from your device to the cloud storage bucket you own and control.
- Credentials stay on your device. Your S3 access keys are stored exclusively in Android's
EncryptedSharedPreferences(AES-256-GCM, backed by the Android Keystore hardware security module) and are excluded from Android cloud backups. - No app-level analytics or crash reporting is included in the current release.
Data Controller
Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, and obtain a portable copy of any personal data we hold about you. Because the website collects no personal data and the app stores data only on your own device, there is typically nothing held on our side to act upon — but you are welcome to ask.
To submit a data request or ask any privacy question, email contact@pync.app. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, the updated policy will be published here with a new effective date. We encourage you to check back periodically.
